Properties:
White crystals. Sublimates upon heating to 145-148℃, decomposes at 293-295℃. Soluble in water (25℃, 24.26 g/L), acetic acid (10.9 g/L), dilute hydrochloric acid, alkali hydroxide, and carbonate solutions; slightly soluble in alcohol (0.72 g/L); insoluble in ether.

Applications:
An essential amino acid. The requirement for an adult male is 2.2 g/day. It is essential for normal growth in infants and for maintaining normal nitrogen balance in adults. This product is used as a nutritional supplement, in the formulation of amino acid infusions and comprehensive amino acid preparations, as a hypoglycemic agent, and as a plant growth promoter. According to my country's GB2760-86 standard, this product can be used as a fragrance.
